No matter what type of material separation you need to do as part of your manufacturing process, simplifying that separation by investing in a vibration screening machine can be a time-saver. If you're fairly new to these machines and you're not sure what you're looking at, there are a few things that can help you narrow it all down.

There Are Different Types Of Screens

Vibration screens come in a few different types and styles. The right one for your needs will depend on both what you're filtering and the size of the particles you're trying to preserve. There are some screens made from a fabric mesh material, while others are crafted from stainless steel. If durability and performance on demand are important, consider stainless steel wire mesh so that you don't have to worry about damage.

The Mesh Size Matters

In addition to choosing what type of material you're going to work with, you'll also need to consider the actual mesh size. The size of the holes is vital, because choosing the wrong size may lead to poor filtration and separation.

Scalping mesh is designed for just shaving large particles from the surface of something. It's done with a single screen, and it's usually only used when the large particles are an anomaly and are not significant in number. Think about how big you want your final particles to be, then choose a mesh size that's that size or one size smaller. That way, you're more likely to get the finish you want.

Fine-particle mesh is different. It's made to deal with much smaller particles in the separation process. Because the mesh size can be somewhat inconsistent, removing fine particles should be done with multiple screen layers.

Grading screens are crafted to actually separate different sizes of particles into different destinations. These screens are usually used on stacked decks so that you can filter particles down along the path. If you're starting with a raw material that's a mixture of sizes and you need to get to just certain components, this is the way to go.

Along with evaluating these things, you'll need to think about how much material the screens can process in relation to how quickly your machines move. Talk with a wire mesh manufacturer today about what kind of mesh will work best in your application so you can get things started right away. The sooner you know what you're looking for, the sooner you can simplify your production line.
